Paradigm Shifting as Spiritual Practice
In this presentation, Jeff Carreira will lead us in an exploration that reveals why spiritual growth is less about achieving a destination and more about altering the lens through which we experience our current reality. Our perception of reality is profoundly shaped by the ideas and assumptions we carry, and the spiritual journey invites us to shift from seeing ourselves as isolated conscious organisms living in an empty universe to the direct recognition that we are conscious aspects of a living universe. Jeff will explore the practice of “resting in the truth of who you are,” and he will introduce techniques for recalibrating our nervous systems so that a new self-experience can emerge. Jeff’s recommended techniques include concrete contemplations designed to awaken the deeper identity that precedes the conditioned self, and to live from that awakened place. Ultimately, Jeff’s presentation will invite us not only to think differently, but also to experience differently.
Jeff Carreira is a meditation teacher, a mystical philosopher, and the author of over 35 books. Through retreats and programs, he guides individuals in a form of meditation he refers to as The Art of Conscious Contentment.
